Alexis Lombre drops her long awaited impactful single Come Find Me
An important song for healing in these trying times
Come Find Me, the latest song by Nu Jazz/Alt R&B artist Alexis Lombre arrived today and the process of it -- from her initially writing it in a college practice room, until now -- was five years in the making. Within those years, Alexis dropped in and out of college and struggled with her own mental health issues but never wavered from this song, and her commitment having it reach the people. Along the way she's worked with many producers including Kate Derringer, Nova Zaii & Eddie Burns (Clairo). Grammy Award winning guitarist, Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo, John Mayer) was the final ingredient to the track and together they completed what we hear today. Despite the time spent making it, and the valleys and peaks of the process, Come Find Me has arrived right on time.

As Alexis Lombre would say, Come Find Me wasn’t written for the people whose lives are together. The song speaks directly to those who are broken-hearted and have struggled with trauma. In these unprecedented times, there is no shortage of folks in that audience. While Alexis has established herself in the world of Jazz, Nu Jazz, Alt R&B etc, Lombre’s focus is on the message of healing, not on conforming to the ‘rules’ of any one musical genre. She pulls inspiration from a diverse range of sources, including J-Dilla, Esperanza Spalding and Herbie Hancock.

Alexis Lombre's first record ‘Southside Sounds’ dropped back in 2017 and the Chicago artist has already made her name for herself, playing with internationally known musicians such as: James Carter, the AACM Great Black Music Ensemble, Makaya McCraven, Donald Harrison, Bobby Watson, Buster Williams, Wadada Leo Smith, Dee Alexander, J Moss, Cece Peniston, Rudresh Mahanthappa, and Nona Hendrix. With her latest single, she takes it a step further, utilizing her own experience to bring light to others.Come Find Me is a beautiful song for healing, and a milestone of an important journey for its creator Alexis Lombre.Listen here:https://youtu.be/p7OjlBNvyB8
