Cautious Clay's rise to prominence as an artist can be quickly summed up by a picture on his Instagram. The post, which is a work ID photo of a slightly younger and cleanly shaved Clay, hints at the life that was once his before he became an up and coming star. Just one year ago, Clay was sitting at a desk in America's tower working in ad sales. These days, he is selling out venues in NYC and garnering some serious critical acclaim for his early works. With strong singles like "Cold War" and "Joshua", Cautious has forced himself onto the radar, coupling a strong songwriting ability with a knack for creating a vibe musically. He's adept at a number of instruments including the flute, sax, keys, bass, guitar and drums, which he often interchanges during his live shows. Coming off of a sold out gig at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC, he'll soon be hitting the road with stops at Nashville, Chicago, Pittsburgh and more.
