NY vs NY TOP PERFORMERS! DAY 1 (WATSON WAS LITTTT)

Nike did it big in day 1.

The stars were out in day 1 of Nike's New York vs New York event and you better believe we were in the building. Most of the players did their thing, but here's a few that stood out to us.

Mike green

The bigs couldn't quite handle all the dimes he was darting, but that wasn't his fault. He was a solid floor general all around.

Nate Tabor

Tabor played a complete game. He finished in traffic, played great defense and made extra passes which led to a victory for his squad. What impressed us most was his bombs from downtown though. He rained quite a few threes in for his Lincoln squad and made sure he let the  opposition know on the way back down that Far Rock was in the building.

Khalif Battle

Butler University has a good one in Battle. The kid is poised, skilled and has a gorgeous straight up and down jumper that was on full display Saturday. He nailed threes from all over the court, along with a couple mid range pops for good measure. He played at his own pace and got buckets within the flow of the game.

Jaquan Carlos

As Carlos pulled up for his first three point attempt of the game, a man simultaneously shouted from the crowd "That's a layup!" The shot was nothing but net, and it was an indicator of what was to come. Carlos' prowess from beyond the ark was deadly, and a big reason why his squad walked away with a W.

Posh Alexander

When Posh Alexander steps on the court, we always expect to see blinding athleticism in transition, above the rim finishes, and at least one Shammgod for the culture. On Saturday, we weren't disappointed. He sliced through traffic constantly, either finishing on his own, or dropping off sick dimes to his bigs.

Precious achiuwa

There are elite hoopers and then there are surefire PROS. Precious looked like he belong to the latter category on Saturday. In the first half in particular, every shot he put up was straight cash. His skill set expands seemingly every time we see him, and his athleticism was always there. A few of his dunks in which he was fouled, would've put the park in a frenzy if he finished. Kid is a walking bucket.

Moussa Cisse

While it may not show up in the stat sheet, Cisse had the kind of game we like to see out of him. He ran the floor with reckless abandon, finished off dimes and got his own on the glass. Forget all that though. Cisse is most valuable when he's coming from the weak side defensively and sending someone's shot to the cheap seats. That's what he did Saturday which earned him a spot on this list.

Dashawn Davis

Vid by @mr.wesxThere's not much we can say about Davis that hasn't already been said. The kid is cooking this summer and is just getting started. Along with his usual attack mode style of play, he impressed us with his willingness to lock up from the opening tip. He gave opposing guards fits all game, and finished on the other end with no problem.
