Meet Naja Young, the musician behind the video "Cycles"
Get hip to this pure talent
A smoked out Honda Civic sits idle in a largely vacant parking lot, filled with young adults. Amidst the casual conversation, we meet Naja Young who stares lifelessly as the camera draws closer to her face. By the time we are face to face with Naja, it's clear that the visuals, and the vibe of the artist, is something entirely fresh on the music scene. "The theme behind All I See Is You was just that feeling of thinking of someone while you're out with your friends and just being zoned out," Naja says. The multi faceted talent is a breath of fresh air in the game, who we believe will be around for a long, long time. The Union City New Jersey artist directed the two part music video, which served as a testament to both her visual brilliance and her lyrical dexterity. Her flow, which remained calmly in the pocket throughout, is notable for it's dense lyrics which paint the picture of an obsessive infatuation. "Lyrics definitely matter to me because it's all about the message you're sending out," She says. "I pride myself in being a songwriter because it's becoming a dying craft. I don't ever see myself writing meaningless music."https://youtu.be/6QHXChpURVU
