CollegeBoyTrey kicks off October with new EP "Karma's Gone"

A Different Vibe from a Dope Talent

Few things are guaranteed in life - Death, taxes and CollegeBoyTrey dropping bangers in October. The last two Octobers were headlined by his DREAMLAND SAGA series which we've covered over the years. The unique, conceptual projects were executed nicely by the New Haven Artist as he presented each song as it's own distinct dream. This year, CollegeBoyTrey has pivoted away from the series and dropped the three song EP "Karma's Gone". While visually, the cover art brings us back to his previous work, he made the decision to approach this project with a different vibe and musicality than October's before.

In Karma's Gone, CollegeBoyTrey takes us through the ups and downs of a relationship, starting with the bonus track "I'm Gone". On this track, he reflects on a lover who switched up whilst floating over some satisfying production. CollegeBoyTrey's willingness to play with melody and shift his voicing and phrasing is a standout on this track and throughout the project. After perhaps our favorite track on the project "Abyss", he ends things off with a full circle moment in "Insane Hate". Here, we see CollegeBoyTrey back in his bag and issuing warnings to whoever his next girl may be.

Karma's Gone experiments with some new vibes while remaining true to that CollegeBoyTrey sound. Check out the project below.
