Kay Flock is the Star of Bronx Drill
The rising star of Kay Flock
At this point, whether you'd prefer to acknowledge New York Drill or not is irrelevant, the drill scene is here to stay. New York has created it's own style of drill music that is distinctive from other regions and produced various stars over the past few years. The same way that Brooklyn drill has captured the attention of the world, it seems that Bronx drill music is shaping up to do the same.
While dozens of new drill rappers have surfaced in the BX, the borough has produced its first budding drill star in Kay Flock. After frequently appearing on tracks with fellow on the rise rappers Dougie B and B Lovee, Kay Flock started dropping solo joints recently that have been doing numbers on YouTube. His most recent couple of tracks "Is ya Ready" and "Being Honest" cracked the million views mark in just a week and have been trending on the top 25 on YouTube for music. Rumors are already brewing that labels have been hitting up Kay Flock in search of the next star of Drill. As a rapper, his gravely delivery gives us G Herbo vibes and his dark violent lyrics provide some insight on what it's like in the birthplace of Hip Hop these days. Along with his aggressive flow, he's shown the ability to switch it up and showcase a more vulnerable side. Rather than simply glamorize the lifestyle, "Being Honest" shined some light on his mind state as he navigates the streets. He also has a good ear for production, as he's hopped on some memorable beats that compliment his sound.

According to Kay Flock, he'll soon be hopping on a track with fellow Bronx Native Lil Tjay and Brooklyn Drill rapper Fivio Foreign. If it happens, this could be the moment for Kay Flock to expand his audience even further and establish himself as a legitimate star. We'll stay tuned and keep our ear to the streets for what he does next.
