Here's Four Black Woman Owned Businesses to shop this Spring

Support Black Businesses Now and Forever

It's always interesting to see major publications and businesses suddenly become more woke and inclusive to sooth public outcry. For us, supporting black creatives and entrepreneurs is never some one-off public statement, it's a way of life. We've made an intentional effort to support black businesses for years, and this time around we're showing love to Black Woman owned businesses that have caught our eye as of late.
A few things caught our eye with each of these brands: They each produce quality products, have great origin stories and dope content as well (We're a sucker for nice imagery). As the season shifts to Spring, here are some black businesses to support, share and love.

Natural Ash

black owned businessesWhen Ashley Cummings, RN began learning about the chemicals found in beauty products that can lead to cancer, she started to pay attention to the ingredients in the products that were included in her skincare routine. This led to her experimentation with natural body butters and oils sourced from Africa. True to its name, Natural Ash does not use any harmful chemicals in its products. It sticks to strictly natural ingredients, and offers a variety of body butters for different skin types. Ashley Cummings makes each of her products at her place in Harlem, with an environmentally conscious mindset when selecting ingredients and packaging. If you want to rid your skin of ashyness, while preserving its health, Natural Ash is a must.Shop Here

Melanted Mindz LLC

black woman owned business

Melanated Mindz is a 100% black and female-owned business that is necessary now and forever. The concept for the brand came about as the owners searched tirelessly for school supplies and resources that positively represented Black culture. When they turned up with very little, they decided to be that change. Melanated Mindz creates an environment where kids and young adults of color see and embrace positive images of one’s culture in order to understand that all goals are attainable. Through products like backpacks, books and supplies that educate and provide affirmations, the black owned business provides resources to promote critical conversations and develop future leaders.

NURILENS

NURILENS seeks to add value to students and professionals working toward pursuing their goals and living with purpose. The eyewear brand is a subsidiary of JUNURI, a company founded by Juliette Nelson, to help students and professionals achieve their goals by equipping them with the tools and resources to become more productive and successful. NURILENS wooden eyewear collection features styles for both male and female, and what we love most is their commitment to not only look good, but feel good. Each pair of frames comes with quality blue-light blocking lenses that may help alleviate digital eye strain for those who spend many hours in front of their electronic devices.

Simone The Label

black owned jewelry brand

What we like about Simone The Label is the quality of their products. Each piece is handpicked and designed to be aesthetically pleasing and physically excellent. What we love though, is their mission. Jewelry for Justice is Simone the Label’s exciting initiative that makes each purchase meaningful through education, donation, and amplification of black voices. 50% of profits from the Jewelry for Justice collection are donated to the Equal Justice Initiative. The Equal Justice Initiative acts to end mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, challenge racial and economic injustice, and protect the basic human rights of the most vulnerable people in American society.
