Nicholas Raefski debut capsule collection is on the way

An exciting new step for the talented designer

*Press release by the team at Nicholas Raefski*Nicholas Raefski is releasing his debut collection on Tuesday, February 9th. Titled “The Smoking Gun”, the upcoming release is a six-piece capsule collection showcasing the best of Nicholas Raefski’s abilities across a versatile array of garments. Inspired by David Fincher’s 1999 cult classic film, Fight Club, the collection is focused on the concept of death being the greatest motivator. Death and is the great equalizer, and the constant reminder of our demise pushes us to pursue our dreams. The six garments are designed so they can be worn as one cohesive outfit or separated and worn on their own. Characterized by functional pieces with hints of postmodernism, the collection follows Raefski’s style of balancing form and function to create technical garments that are easily styled and worn in any setting. This collection includes Raefski’s first original shoe release, which will be sold through a pre-order system, allowing for an unlimited number of units to be sold.

new fashion brands
Raefski was previously the co-founder and head designer at Strictly Original, a streetwear brand he created in his college dorm room. Raefski’s transition to his namesake label has allowed him to branch out and experiment with new mediums such as footwear. His work can be best described as poststructuralist streetwear and serves as a commentary on the modern-day consumerist phenomena. Mental health advocacy is very important to Raefski as he has struggled with his own mental health and wants to help erase the stigma surrounding the topic. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is an organization that Raefski has found support in and wants to help advance their mission in helping others. A portion of total sales from this collection will be donated to NAMI to support those who are struggling with mental health complications. This collection serves as Raefski’s solo introduction to the industry and provides a glimpse into what he is capable of and what will be coming in the future. Nicholas Raefski currently resides in New York City where he is a graduate student at Fordham University.
