Height & Light drops a must see collection inspired by the Pan-African flag
The Red Black and Green theme is powerful
We have a special place in our heart for creatives that we featured back in 2017. In those days, we were just getting started with the site, and securing interviews with top talent was a daily struggle. Andira Sample on the contrary, was already thriving with her brand Height & Light. The black business specializes in creating educational experiences and empowerment through design. It blends fashion & home goods in the forms of informative retail collections, with a mission to bridge the gap between creativity and black history for those that learn through art. While her jewelry collections are what caught our eye back then, she has continued to push the envelope using her expertise to expand her brand into multiple industries. Most recently, Height & Light released it's first full set of home games, clothing and home goods, all inspired by the red/black/green Pan-African flag. The collection includes a baseball tee, a dice set, ash trays, a domino set and our personal favorite, a red black and green chess set. Along with looking awesome, the collection holds personal value for its Andira, who says: "This collection is dedicated to my late grandfather who instilled the value of loving who you are and where you come from." Andira also shared the creatives who helped this project come together, stating: “For this project I collaborated with the amazing photographer Yen as well as L.A natives/creatives Six Sev & Ashley to shoot our “Nappy” 70s tee and dice set. As well as the New York Super Shooter/photographer Owen & the talented/creative models Kilo & Sam to shoot the full look book. “Check out some of those shots below.
