Mishi delivers a dark and Gritty EP "Doomsday"
Exclusive EP review for the mind behind Doomsday
Up until 2020, the world knew Mishi as the talented model and artist. This year though, he's introduced another layer of his artistry to the world as a musician. The Maryland based Ghanian native bursted on the scene with "Rackx" in July and the gritty tune foreshadowed the aesthetics of his eventual EP "Doomsday". The 5 song project brings forth a darker side of Mishi, pulling inspiration from Alternative Rock as much as Hip Hop.Mishi starts the project off with an absolute banger "Never HAD". The bass filled production immediately paints a late night, creepy portrait which sets the tone for what's to come. Throughout "Doomsday" we hear Mishi toiling with voices in his brain, and dealing with feelings of pain and raw anger. His hunger is evident from the jump and his second track confirms that if he can't have everything, he's looking to take it. In the final song of the project, Mishi switches the pace up, delivering a spacey, saxophone laced gem in "Pain". In this track, he assesses his mindset and feelings of insanity, giving us the vibe of someone coming down from a bad psychedelic trip."Doomsday" was a brave and honest project for the young artist, one in which he looked to please no one and stayed true to himself. While the EP was as dark as it's name and cover art promised, we can't help but want to hear more.Listen Here to Doomsday here!
