Mal the Oddity blesses the summer with his single "Right Now"

The indie artist delivers a self produced gem

In another world, Mal the Oddity's 80's inspired production would be the soundtrack to our summer activities, but this is 2020 after all. In the midst of this new normal, the Brooklyn artist underwent a writing spree, resulting in his latest gem, "Right Now". The track utilizes a melting pot of synth work, upbeat drums, and chill bedroom pop ethos to score the summer that never was.

Fresh off of his successful hit "Freaks and Wild Things", Mal the Oddity digs even deeper into his indie bag for this one, pulling inspiration from Frank Ocean and Tame Impala. The track playfully laments the quarantine distance of a lover, over bright, vibrant production. “I’d just like each song to be a different trance," He says. "A different short movie that holds your attention and washes over you, for you to experience and bring with you.” The 80s inspired beat and timely, relatable lyrics make the track sound futuristic and vintage at the same time, which we're pretty sure is exactly what he was going for.
