While the most prolific conversations in fashion are created around wardrobe, fashion or style can be sensed in all sorts of mediums. Especially the ones we pin daily on our ‘dream home’ Pinterest board: interior design. It’s safe to say that everyone values a dope space in which its pieces represent them fashionably. And London's aspiring product designer, Al is making sure those dreams come true.
The London Southbank student's homeware interest sparked from the lack of. “My friends and I got to that age where we were starting to move out of our parent’s house,” he says, “and I felt there wasn’t a lot of interesting homeware out there to reflect our interests and make the space feel more like "us". So, he came up with the prosaic, “br_wksp” (short for bedroom workshop) to uproot the homeware revolution.

If you don’t understand the last sentence then you”ll have to take a look at his first collection: ‘Air Force Planters.’ Which is a combination of the classic AF1 sneaker crafted into a plant holder. “Some people buy plants to decorate their homes and make it feel more personal, while others do the same with their clothes/shoes so I thought why not do both together?” Air Force Planters is every hypebeast dream. “Your home is an extension of you” he says “So it’d be pretty cool if your surroundings could essentially “wear” the same things. I guess it’s kind of a way for people to bring streetwear home with them.”The young artist is just getting started as a product designer but his potential is incredible. “I like making things & Br-wksp exists to provide me with a proper platform to do so,” he says “Hopefully it grows & I can experiment with products on a larger scale/ work with brands that have bigger budgets so I can make more exciting things.” One day, he hopes to work with designers like Peterson Stoop , Alexandra Hackett and Nicole Mclaughlin. But right now, Al is just making products that challenge people to look at things differently.Follow Al hereFor more dope content click here
