Meet one of Brooklyn's Best Vocalists Juani Corsino
The singer's potential is shining bright
The Apollo's stage has long been considered one of the toughest venues in the world for an up and coming act to succeed on, as many are showered with boos and rushed off of stage. There are exceptions though. For the best vocalists like Juani Corsino, the iconic theater was simply a platform to display to the city what she can do, and show some serious star potential in the process. Corsino has been buzzing on social media for sometime now, as her personality shines bright on Youtube and Instagram. Her musical covers have gained her notoriety and she hopes to capitalize on that with her soon to be released EP. Before she blows up off of her original music, we decided to ask her a couple questions. Enjoy!
1. What were your earliest memories coming up in New York? What do you think influenced you to sing?
My earliest memories of NY would be living in Bushwick. I moved constantly as a kid but my family always seemed to end up right back in Bushwick. My mom and her siblings grew up there as well so it's definitely a place I hold close to my heart. Having a family full of musicians and growing up in the gospel atmosphere influenced me to sing.

2. Explain the feeling you experienced gracing the stage of the Apollo. Were you nervous? Excited?
Wow, the Apollo stage was an amazing experience. I was with the Apollo production for a week in a hotel here in the city and I just met the most amazing individuals that I will forever call my Apollo family. Until this day I can't get over it. I rewatch my performance 100 times just to look at Steve's reaction to my voice! It was a like living a dream. Having the toughest crowd in the world cheering me on felt like I won the lotto. I still consider it one of my biggest accomplishments in life. I wasn't as nervous as I thought I was going to be. I had thousands of butterflies in my stomach and my adrenalin was rushing (I guess you can call that being nervous, lol) but I was more grateful than anything and I tried to soak in every second of the moment.

3. We see you've been putting out covers consistently. Can we expect some original music in the works? Any upcoming or recently released projects you'd like to speak on?
I am currently working on an EP with 5 to 6 songs. I am super excited for you guys to hear it. I have been taking time to write and really create something for my supporters to enjoy. There are some things in the works that should be releasing soon! I've been uploading teasers on Instagram often so stay tuned! Keep an ear out. Hope you guys enjoy the covers for now. Don't be afraid to send recommendations of anything you would like me to cover.
4. Your Youtube displays you as a diverse talent. Are some of your other interest, for example, your docu-series, just hobbies or do you wish to try your hand at these things in your career as well?
My YouTube has given me a platform to be myself and do things I enjoy like story time, challenges etc. for my subscribers. These are things I really adore and I would like to involve them in my career as well. Everything that has to do with entertainment catches my eye. I enjoy public speaking, hosting, acting and modeling. I would even love to work behind the scenes in productions. I just truly enjoy it all!

5. What are your dreams long term? Where should we expect you in five years?
My long term dream is to be genuinely happy. Where ever life takes me I just want to be fulfilled with joy and be proud of any accomplishment I make. I want to touch peoples lives.Be an inspiration to all those that support me. I hope to make my family proud and live without worries financially. I would do what I love for free if I knew I would be able to still support my family. I truly enjoy music and the entertainment world and I wouldn't ever want to choose a different career path. In five years expect me on tour sharing my music with the world, in magazines and movies. At all the award shows probably next to Beyonce or Chance the Rapper receiving a couple of Grammys! I know these are really difficult things to accomplish but ALWAYS remember you can speak things into existence. You just have to make sure you are working every second to get closer to your vision. Do what you love and love what you do.
